Our Directors

Camp Shamrock is overseen by a board of dedicated individuals. These people work hard all year to make camp a great success each year. Below you will find a little information about them as well as their email addresses.

Bert Ritchie

Bert Ritchie, speaking to you. I can honestly say that one of the highlights of my 32 years in church ministry has been serving at Camp Shamrock. I frequently meet adults who have fond memories of Camp when they were young and speak of it as some of the best years of their life. On top of all that I have some of the best colleagues imaginable working with me. My home is in Bushmills.

Sheba Clinton

Hi, I’m Sheba Clinton and I live in Coleraine. When work as a civil servant is not demanding my time, I like to stay active in working with our young people.

It is a pleasure to serve on the board of Camp Shamrock and to be part of a team which is dedicated to such a tremendous work.

Fintan Horgan

Fintan Horgan here, from Dublin. My background in the army and engineering has equipped me with some practical skills, which are useful in my work at Camp Shamrock.

I look forward each year to serving the children and joining in the fun and activities. This work is certainly a privilege to be a part of.

Leslie McKay

Hello,  I’m Leslie McKay from Limavady. My work as lab technician in the Water Service can send me just about anywhere in the North of Ireland.  However it does give me the flexibility to work at Camp Shamrock where I particularly enjoy keeping the equipment running and functioning.

I have no hesitation in recommending camp to any parent.

Liam Mac Namara

Hi, Liam Mac Namara here from Dublin. I am the newest member of the Board of Camp Shamrock – so I am still learning the ropes (pardon the pun). As a banker I have been asked to keep track of the finances for the camp. I enjoy going to camp and seeing the campers growing up and maturing as the years pass. It is a great honour to be involved in this work and to be on the Board.

Alex McGuiggan

Hello,  My name is Alex McGuiggan from Bangor, and I’ve worked with camp shamrock for more years than I can remember.  Being invited to serve on the board was an honour and privilege. My work as a teacher allowed me the time to devote to the camp in the summer.

Lord willing I hope to continue in this great project.

In 2010, Alex resigned from the board. However, Alex will continue in an advisory capacity to the board. We thank Alex for his many years of hard work to help make Camp Shamrock what it is today.
