Message:first went to camp shamrock when i was 8 yrs old with my cousin hugh vance who was at that time a camp shamrock tent leader.
i continued to go for a lot of years
i then got married and returned to tollymore where camp shamrock was now based (gone was donard) my wife and my kids loved it ,to see were there dad and husband had spent his holidays,this camp has told me so much about myself and were i want to be, it is a life experience to behold
I would say to any young person who reads this what have you got to lose come to tollymore forest park and enjoy
the times that you will always remember

Message:I was fortunate to attend Camp Shamrock for an afternoon in July 2009 with my son Connor who was 6 yrs after an absence of about 18yrs. It was like stepping out of a time vacuum and then stepping back into it again. I was welcomed as if I had been back after only a year had passed. I saw the children of people I grew up with and was shocked as to how they had grown into clones of their parents.This is a field of dreams. A chance to catch up on memories and with real people with whom you have lost touch with. Please, come along. Present yourself, or your children. Always remember that your offspring are part of the rites of passage that make Camp Shamrock was it is today. I will make sure that in the years that Connor will be part of that spirit.
